MV data from yesterday: 300 RUM, 168g TTSX, 94g of RL25. Looking for smallest group size, not finished w/ overall cartridge length study yet. To those who say that seating the bullet closer to the rifling reduces peak chamber pressure, heres proof that it doesnt work that way... Additionally, the Caldwell chronograph sky shades werent so violently removed from the unit w/ longer OCLs, indicating lower exit pressures (that come w/ higher chamber pressure). Muzzle blast on 300 RUM was particularly violent on the sky shades.. OCL, in. Avg MV, FPS 3.600 3251.0 3.695 3290.2 3.755 3315.4 My 30.06 firing 168g Barnes TSX over 58.0g IMR 4350 has avg MV of 2814 FPS, MV sigma of 23 FPS (all hand trickled to weight). The 25.06 firing 70 Sierra BlitzKing over 58.0g of IMR 4831 has avg MV of 3566 FPS w/ mv sigma of 36 FPS.
