MWAVUNYU PRIMARY APPRECIATED (JANUARY 2, 2015). H.E the Governor, Eng. John Mruttu alongside the CEC, Education, Hon. Jemimah Tuja and other key County government officials today paid Mwavunyu Primary School a courtesy call as a way of acknowledging and appreciating their efforts in posting good results in last year’s Kenya Primary School Certificate (KCPE) exams. While addressing parents, teachers and the immediate former candidates who had gathered to celebrate the results, Eng. Mruttu appreciated their remarkable achievements and called on for sustained efforts aimed at posting better results in future. “We always appreciate success in our education sector and as we promised earlier we shall support all students from the public schools who managed to score more than 400 marks by paying their school fees fully” assured the Governor. Mwavunyu Primary School’s Head teacher, Mr. Hippolite Kiwo attributed the good results on the capacity building workshop organized by the County’s Ministry of Education as well as the recently launched mobile library service that provided crucial revision materials to candidates. He further appreciated the County Governments efforts in improving the welfare of the students by such incentives as provision of sanitary towels and the feeding program during the exam period which helped in boosting the candidates’ morale hence the good results. On her part, Hon. Tuja congratulated the class of 2014 and called on for more initiatives that can help in bettering the results even more. “We all know the importance of Education to our children and as Parents we need to get more involved in their day to day learning to ensure that we realize better results”. Mwavunyu primary is among the best performing public schools in Coastal region having managed to attain a mean score of 329.04 out of the possible 500. The price giving day shall be held on 24th Jan, 2015 at the same school and shall be graced by H.E the Governor and other key officers from both the National and the County government.
