MY ANSWER TO A CATHOLIC WHO IS CONTINUALLY OBSESSED WITH MARY - TopicsExpress

MY ANSWER TO A CATHOLIC WHO IS CONTINUALLY OBSESSED WITH MARY BEING SINLESS, EVER THOUGH THE WORD OF GOD DOES NOT STATE MARY WAS SINLESS.... There is not a single verse in the entire Bible that even hints or suggests that Mary was sinless. CATHOLICS RESPONSE:, if you insist that Mary must have sinned because she offered this sacrifice, then you must also conclude that Jesus must have sinned because he underwent Johns baptism of repentance if you would remain consistent with your own logic. HERE HE TRIES TO USE JESUS BAPTISM AS A MEANS TO PROVE MARYS SINLESSNESS....A TRULY MIND-NUMBING ATTEMPT..?? Michael Conti: Not true, Jesus clearly says to John who does not want to baptize Him, Matt 3: 13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me? 15 But Jesus answered and said to him, Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he allowed Him. 16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.. ...Johns baptism symbolized repentance, and John saw this as an inappropriate for One he knew was the spotless Lamb of God (John 1:29). Christ was here idenifying Himself with sinners. He will untimately bear their sins; His perfect righteousness will be imputed to them (2 Cor 5:21). This act of baptism was a necessary part of the righteousness He secured for sinners. This first public event of His ministry is also rich in meaning. 1) It pictured His death and resurrection (Luke 12:50);. 2) It therefore prefigured the significance of Christian baptism;. 3) it marked His first public identification with those whose sins He would bear (Isa 53:11; 1 Peter 3:18); and it was a public affirmation of His messiahship by testimony directly from heaven. God the Father spoke from heaven, the Holy Spirit descends on Messiah and the Son comes straight out of the water. Trying to use this even to prove Mary was sinless is truly Mind-Numbing, if Mary was sinless then why didnt one of the Apostles or Disciples state it..??? Something that wonderful would have been clearly taught in the Word of God, but it isnt , Nowhere is Mary spoken of as sinless.
