MY ARTIST BIOGRAPHY A fascination with long flowing hair began as a young girl when I started playing with dolls and my little ponies. I acquired a taste for feminine girly things, which later attracted me to the elaborate organic lines and sophistication of Art Nouveau and Renaissance. I completed a Bachelor of Applied Visual Imaging at UCOL in Palmerston North, New Zealand in 2007, which initiated a curiosity in Typography and Graphic Design. I later continued my study and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Secondary School Teaching. It was here, in my classroom where I established my own style and appetite for street art and illustration. I was influenced by my art students’ inquisitiveness for creativity, and this enabled me to discover other artists and illustrators such as Bec Winnel, Minjae Lee and Hush. My works are primarily mixed media, and are centred around various natural forms with a common reoccurrence, the New Zealand native bird, the Tui. I seek to beautify numerous objects, by adorning them in decoration and soft organic lines, with an intention to focus on the juxtapose between classic and contemporary styles. I continue my journey as an artist, and I hope you can follow me on this colourful journey as well. Thankyou to my supportive partner, family, friends and students – you know who you are. X X X
