MY BANKCARD IS CANCELED AND RECALLED. The strangest thing of all - TopicsExpress

MY BANKCARD IS CANCELED AND RECALLED. The strangest thing of all was the National Bank in Queen Street, when I went to pay my credit on the Bankcard. It was the same day when I saw the Pomfrets in Coles. Bank told me that they had approved me an extra five hundred dollars to spend making it a total allowable limit of $1,500.00. My credit by then was below a thousand, it may have been about nine hundred dollars. When I originally asked for it to buy a brand new refrigerator, it was refused. I told them that I don’t want the money because I don’t need it now and I started walking out. The manager said, you can have it in cash right now if you want it. I don’t want it I said, when I originally asked for it, there were brand new fridges at Lutwyche Shopping Village being liquidated by a department store because they went broke, all fridges were five hundred dollars to clear the stock, they have been all sold since and the shop has closed down. Sorry the manager said, I didn’t know. You didn’t listen to me when I tried to tell you then but it’s too late now, seven months has passed already and I don’t want it. You can use it if you need to he said but try not to overspend like before. I don’t have a car or a truck anymore I said, I only use a bicycle or public transport or just walk around. However, I may use the Bankcard sometimes if I need groceries from supermarkets and he agreed. Cashier commented as I walked out, fancy that eh, money is approved to him and he doesn’t want it. I have never heard of anybody like him before, me either said the manager. I used the money up eventually in small amounts here and there but it did go a bit over the $1,500.00 limit and all of a sudden I got a notice recalling the Bankcard and telling me it has been cancelled. Mrs Wicks said, it is better to use cash than credit. It is I said and they shouldn’t have approved me the five hundred dollars in the first place. She said, you should have taken the five hundred and used it to pay some of the old creddit to them to reduce your interest because the interest is the killer. I realised that what she said was true but I didn’t think of it at the time to draw it out and come home for another voucher to pay it all back through another branch. It was a lesson learned and I took the scissors and cut up the Bankcard.
