MY BIRTHDAY MESSAGE ON THE 30TH AUGUST,2014. On this remarkable day of my life,I welcome the opportunity to speak to all the peoples of Oghara kingdom,wherever they are and whatever political,religious and traditional class they belong. Let me start by giving thanks to Almighty God for His saving grace that sustained me to this moment.Let me also say thank you to the thounsands of kind people who sent messages of goodwill.Indeed,this is a happy day for me;but is also one that brings serious thoughts,thoughts of life looming ahead with challenges and with all its opportunity. It is a wonderful thing to know that there are multitudes of friends all around the world who are thinking about me and who wish me well.I am very grateful and deeply moved. Although there is none from our great kingdom,whom I do not wish to greet,I am thinking especially today about the young men and women who were born about the same time as myself and grown up like me into a scheme that has zero regard for erudite youths. My erudite youths of our dear kingdom,will you permit me to speak on my birthday as one of you and your representative?Now that we are coming to manhood and womhood,it is a great joy to us to think that we shall take some responsibilities and librate ouselves from this neglect and exclusion. We must not be daunted by the anxieties and hardships,which this unfair treatment lays before us.We must at least, thank God for matching us with this hour. I am sure that you will see our difficulties in the light that I see them,as great opportunity for you and me.It is my belief that by exertion and good example,situations will positively improve. If we go forward together,with an unwavering faith,high courage,and a quiet heart,we shall be able to make of this Oghara kingdom,which we all love dearly,more prosperous,happier and a more powerful influence in the urhobo nation than it has ever been. To accomplish this task,we must all give nothing less than the whole of ourselves.HRM,Orefe III,would say,I dedicated myself to the service of Oghara kingdom;since my ascention to the throne as the Ovie(king),I have been serving and I will continue to serve in the interest of Oghara kingdom so that at/and after my demise,my goodwill will be rememberd of me.These words,as I have keenly observed are senseless to those who want the erudits youths to perpetually roam the streets and and feed on insecurity.I refuse to subscribe to or form any alliance with such heartlessness and project myself as an enemy to humanity. I have no doubt that with increasing advancement in technology and my exposure,I can do those good things that may seem impossible now.I can make my solemn act dedication with the whole Oghara people listening.I wish to make my hearty dedictaion now.It is very simple. I,Oghenedoro Oghenesuohwo declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our dear kingdom. But I shall not have strength to carry out this resolution alone unless you join in it.As I now invite you to do,I know that your support will be unfailingly given. God help me to make good my vow, and God bless you who are willing to share in it.
