MY CHILD ROCKS BACK AND FORTH...AND I AM PROUD OF HIM. My child spins in circles...and I love him. My child makes sounds no one understands...and I am fascinated. My child looks like other children but is VERY different. My child isnt a straight A student. My child isnt socially adept. My child doesnt say hello or good-bye. My child doesnt look into the eyes of others, at least no often. Who is my child? My child is the one I love. My child has AUTISM and I am his proud parent. If you cant look into my childs eyes, look into mine...and I will be the bridge and I will be the wind and I will be the song of autism. And who am I? I am a proud parent. And I will show you my face and my childs face. And I will be unafraid of your judgments and strong even if you turn away. And I will model to you as best I can what I want most for my child...which is love, even if you dont love me or my child in return. I am not the past. I am the present and I will be the future.
