MY DAY HAS BEGUN These mornings come so quickly. Even as the fog rises and exposes my thighs to the crisp dawn air, I still question my being awake. Soon, the sun will kiss my face like an unwanted advance from a forgotten lover. Now, the noise hovers in the atmosphere, getting ready to drop like a beat on an old rap track, It is almost time to sigh! My day has begun. The first horn honks me into submission and I roll off my bed. Coffee or tea, a little Bread, Cream Cheese and a banana, And the police who feel as though my alarm was insufficient, These are my immediate horrors. Then I remember- Ive forgotten to pray- These Days come so quickly. My dreams almost werent long enough. How do I tell heaven I need another five? In five, give me a nudge?
