MY DAY – 7.30am 1. Check the 3 laptops I requested yesterday to be added to domain are on domain as last minute request – hand-balled to me by someone else 2. Had ergonomic workstation check 3. Request ANOTHER laptop be added to domain as last minute request for Contractor – hand-balled to me by someone else 4. Map laptop for Contractor 5. Moved Investment Analyst from desk 50 to desk 57 6. Moved Admin assistant from desk 61 to desk 50 7. Pack up Monitor, laptop & speakers from Architects room that I set up for someone on Thursday & they just left it all there 8. Organise paperwork for ANOTHER new user 9. Set up 3 pc’s for 3 new users starting next Wednesday 10. Arrange laptop for Investment Manager to take OS – hand-balled to me by someone else 11. Scanned about 12 sets of new user & request forms & saved electronically in Staff folders (had a back log….funny that) 12. Arranged for the pick up & replacement of 4 faulty telephone handsets 13. Set up 3 telephone handsets for new users starting next week 14. Replied to 25 emails 15. Raised 4 cases with Altiris for IT issues 16. Installed label printer on JH’s pc 17. Made about 6 calls to Service Desk for help with IT issues 18. Threw the 3 a fore mentioned laptops that I had to get added to the domain ASAP as last minute request to the shithouse after being informed by the person who hand-balled it to me in the first place that as of yesterday they were no longer required (thanks for letting me know) 19. Chased up Desk Top Support to come & get the faulty laptop that I raised a case for last Thursday to come& get the laptop as it wasn’t going to get fixed sitting in the cupboard 20. Arrange international roaming for an Executive travelling OS 21. Ordered new iphone for new Manager in Investments 22. Informed said Manager that we would NOT be paying out the contract that he took out just last week so he could port his number to our account & not have to carry 2 phones (shoulda thought of that last week mate before you took out new contract) 23. Retrieved a couple of old emails from the vault re a lost mobile phone 24. Checked off Sydney phone bill & entered in spreadsheet 25. Received notification of another 8 new staff members coming in the next couple of weeks........*head...desk* 26. Scratched head as to what to do about phone numbers as I only have about 5 vacant extension numbers left until we swap to our new system sometime next year. 27. This months mobile phone bill arrives for me to scrutinise every single entry of every single page .......all 650 of them (pages that is) & enter it in my spreadsheet 28. Feel aneurysm start in brain 29. Start packing up to go home 3.00pm.....desk needs tidying....yeah right! 30. Im outta here............. Just a typical day at the office for me!
