MY DEAR CHIKODI (1) Dear Chikodi, I hope this letter meets you well. Hello my dear, permit me to go straight to the original aim for writing you. This is because I am a very serious man; I don’t like beating about the bush. Do you remember the gentleman that sat by your side in church last Sunday? I sat at your left side. I am that fair gentleman that was smiling at you; I remember our eyes met several times before I waved at you. Nne true to God, after that Sunday in church, I was convinced I have found my missing rib. Where have you been have all these years? I have searched for this rib everywhere. I have searched for it in Alaba market, Balogun market, Otigba market and all the markets our people come to buy and sell goods in Lagos. Nne that your voice! Chei! Who did you pick that voice from, your mother or father? Nne to God who made me, that voice is capable of raising the dead and making the cripple to run. Nne, Let me now go straight to my point now; like I said earlier on, I hate beating about the bush. Hello my dear, can I see you after church on Sunday? I need to convey how I feel about you eyeball to eyeball. I have never felt this way since I was born. The feeling I had on Sunday was very special. It was one in town. Immediately I set my eyes, I realized why Ijeoma, Evelyn and Ndidi did not agree for me. They paved the way for you to come in and occupy. Nne on Sunday, I will be waiting for you in a black Range Rover under the Gmelina tree, not the Gmelina tree towards the gate o. I will be under that one that has wounds on it, the one that looks like somebody tried to cut it down. Chi, don’t forget, it is immediately after church this Sunday. See you on Sunday. Yours, Godspower Akachukwu
