MY DEVOTIONAL Job 38:39 Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions, 40 When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait? 41 Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, and they wander for lack of meat. The truth of the matter as revealed in the scripture is that the Lord is the one who provides food for the lion. The king of the jungle as it is called does not feed unless God catches a prey for it. It’s might is naught without God bringing a prey in its way. And the young lion is also provided for by the Lord lest it dies of hunger. Even the lions lie patiently in their dens waiting for the Lord to provide food. Even the lions wait on God. When the babies of the raven cry, it is not unto their mother but unto God. Have you ever thought of it that even the young animals cry unto the Lord for food? Look at all the animals in the world (and their young ones) and consider that they also cry unto the Lord for provision just as human beings also cry unto the Lord for their provision and you will know that indeed our God is an awesome God – Jehovah Jireh – our provider. If God provides for all these animals who depend on Him, why not you, a human being? Even the animal who is not adorned with the wisdom of man, has learnt to trust in the provision of the Lord without doubt, why not man? If God is careful to provide for even the animal why not you, man who was created a little lower than the angels and crowned with glory (Ps. 8). Trust in the Lord for He knows every pain and trepidation you may be facing.
