*MY FATHERS SISTER* By Karo Oforofuo EPISODE 2 (NB:I never said i wrote this story by myself.Just sharing to entertain) Somewhere in the house, there was a small room that held a young girl captive. Her name was Cindy Ojuke, the only daughter of late George Ojuke. The windows were nailed with woods so as to completely blurt out the rays of the sun and to prevent her from escaping. Cindy was in her mid twenties. She was about five foot tall, dark complexion and very beautiful. Lately, her beauty became overshadowed by too much pain, hatred and suffering. Her skin was full of dirt, she became too skinny due to starvation and her long hair was scattered as it fell over her shoulders. There in the darkness, her only companions were mosquitoes. Ones that stopped at nothing until they had sucked enough blood from her body. She sat quietly in the dark room and wept bitterly for her life, for everything she had gone through in the hands of her Aunty Ruth and her cousins. It was Saturday, the 20th of August. It was her day, the day she was to get married to her Love, Samson Adu. Up until that morning, she was very sure she was going to the alter with him. She was sure that her wicked aunty and cousins were finally in support of her marriage to Samson Adu. She worked very hard to put things in place. She went shopping, made arrangement with the vendors and caterers, sent out invitations and so on. Now there she was, locked up in a dark room while her wicked cousin, Linda, was getting set to marry the man of her dreams. She should have known, she should have known that her aunty only spent so much money on the wedding preparations because she wanted her daughter to be the bride. Its all my fault! She said as fresh tears rolled down her cheeks. If only I never let them into my house, if only I never trusted them. They wouldnt have been able to commit so much atrocities against me. The tears blured her vision but her mind remained focused and clear as it went down memory lane. She remembered how it all happened. She was the only child of her parents and therefore, she was the only one to inherit her fathers estates and businesses. She lost her dear mother at child birth so she never got to know her personally. Her father refused to marry again. He concentrated his love on his only child and did everything possible to make sure she always had the best of everything. She loved her father so dearly and always tried to make him proud, until death took him away from her about six months ago. The doctor who attended to her father said he died of diabetes and high blood pressure due to too much work. She didnt quite agree with the report because her father never complained about diabetes or high blood pressure. However since she couldnt conduct another autopsy, she went ahead to fix a date for his burial which was attended by families and friends. The one person she didnt expect to see at the burial was her fathers sister, Aunty Ruth. Her father had never been in good terms with her aunty. Even when she wanted to spend holidays with them, he always forbide her to. She asked why several times but he never gave a good reason. All he said was that he didnt want anything to do with a wicked and heartless woman. You should stay away from her too. He warned. Nothing good will come out of being with her. But daddy, she is your sister. I know. I also know that she is evil. Now that he was gone, Diane was surprised to see Aunty Ruth at her fathers burial.Did she come to mourn her brother or could she be upto something?
