MY FEAR AS A MUSLIM and Salmans days in jail... Slamans arrest and the silence on the matter by the concerned authority reminds me of the Rajans arrest during the time of emergency. It happened when a communist government, though it is CPI, was ruling in the state. His only offence was singing a song, kanaka simhasanathil.... Last day, my law teacher at Press Academy, Sebastian Paul presented the context of Rajans arrest and his killing by state police, in a television channel. It made shivers on my spine. Even our Pukasa people could not raise the issue in its own lukeworm way....Since I am a Muslim by belief, even the slip of the tongue may take as an anti national gesture, like what happened to Salmaan. Salmaan arrest should disturb us in many ways...Because the next time they will come to us....the bloody fascists of our times....the Sangh people and police...sorry my dear comrades taking something from identity politics, because when you and police and state identify me as a Muslim, I am a Muslim.
