MY HEART IS AT DEMBARE - CHAFA “It is something that I cannot hide. I love Dynamos and loved to play for the team. I waited patiently for something to come out but there was no agreement as it dragged on and on. Yes, there were three other offers but I was committed in rejoining Dynamos. “It was my home and my family also supported the same team. We had a situation whereby my wife supported Dynamos and my mother also loved the team. “Whenever there was victory, we were happy as a family and defeat would affect us as a family. But now I have to accept the reality that I’m moving away and focus on the new club that have shown me love. “It is always important to play at a team where your services are required but I will always cherish the time spend at DeMbare. It will also always remain home,” he said. Chafa, 25, arrived at DeMbare in 2011 after having been recruited by Lloyd Mutasa and he won his first Premiership title when the team was under coach Kalisto Pasuwa during the same year. “The 2011 title was the greatest for me because it was the first. It was an amazing feeling because we almost won everything that was on offer during that year. “Winning three more titles was also special and I will always cherish the moments. I will always cherish the support from the fans and everyone else involved with the club in happy and sad moments,” said the midfielder. During his stay at the Premiership giants, he has had to battle it out with the like Milton Makopa and Stephen Alimenda for the holding role. Chafa gives credit to the coaches he has worked with over the years for making him more of a ball player. “I think the time I spend at Aces Youth Academy at an early age and later DC academy helped a lot. There are coaches that also helped me in making sure I always play with the ball. “Coach Masimba Matame helped a lot, Lloyd Mutasa and even Mike Madzivanyika really helped in my career before I worked with Pasuwa. They are not the only coaches though.” It is not always that Chafa has been able to strike an understanding with his teammates but when it has happened, it has been pure class. “I think the player that I combine with better than anyone else has proved to be Masimba Mambare. Our combination in that Cosafa team was great I think and I really understand him. “Apart from him, I think I understand James Marufu better as well because maybe we are very close friends and we always used to play together,” said Chafa. At How Mine Chafa finds himself working under Luke Masomere and other new faces. But he will not be short of familiar faces. “It will be good to play alongside Muparati again. We played together at Dynamos for the past four years and I really know what kind of player he is. “I have also played with Charles Sibanda at the national team so I also know what kind of player he is. I’m sure with time we will understand each other as a team and do well.” Could 2015 be the season that Chafa reaches the summit? “I always want to do well but I leave everything to God. He knows what he has planned and I follow,” Chafa said
