MY HOPE IS ANCHORED IN JESUS Good morning family. The book of Lamentations records Jeremiahs anguish over the nation of Judahs stubborn refusal to follow God. He was often called the weeping prophet, he witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem and saw his people carried into captivity. Yet in Jeremiahs darkest hour, he said, This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lords mercies we are not consumed, because His compassion fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. When we look at the news, whether its the local news or world news we can see destruction everywhere. Satan has carried people into captivity and reeking havoc across this nation and the world. I want to encourage the people of God this morning by echoing the words of Jeremiah: This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope! Listen, whether we suffer for our own choices or from those of others, despair may threaten to overcome us. When all seem lost, recall to your mind that we can cling to the Lords faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul. Therefore I hope in Him!!! People of God, no matter what youre going through, or whats going on around you, the anchor of Gods faithfulness holds firm in the strongest storms!!!! Lord, help us to remember that our hope is anchored in You!
