MY HUSBAND GAVE ME WORMS ~ I am beyond delighted that my husband Martin Knox gave me worms this Christmas. . . from The Urban Worm here in Nottingham who provide urban composting solutions . They arrived with their own very smart green wheelie bin, and a separate bucket of wigglers already established in a lovely mulch of sweet smelling hops ( left overs from a local micro brewery). They are quite small, bright red and very lively creatures. Now I can compost all our household food waste ( hey, they may end up very thin worms, I dont waste much). Their first meal will be what remains of our Christmas lunch. They are ferocious eaters with the ability to consume up to their own body weight a day in organic waste. Apparently they dont like onion, garlic,citrus,meat, oil or dairy. . . fussy little blighters. They can also make a good job of cardboard and paper and. . . dog poo! FEED THE WORMS ~ FEED THE SOIL ~ FEED THE SOUL On that note I will leave you to wonder at the sheer miracle of what Santa can get down a chimney! x
