MY JOURNEY SO FAR AS SENATOR REPRESENTING THE GOOD PEOPLE OF KOGI - TopicsExpress

MY JOURNEY SO FAR AS SENATOR REPRESENTING THE GOOD PEOPLE OF KOGI EAST SENATORIAL DISTRICT AT THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, ABUJA-NIGERIA. Let me first and foremost thank you all for your unalloyed support and show of love for me. You have been very consistent in your prayers and supports for me and your determination and commitment to collectively make the Eastern Senatorial District of Kogi State great is highly encouraging and appreciated. In my legislative journey into the National Assembly, at both the lower chamber as the representative of Omala/Ankpa/Olamaboro Federal Constituency and in the upper chamber as the Senator representing the good people of Igala and Bassa kingdoms of the Eastern senatorial district of Kogi State, I have been challenged and inspired to explore every niche of darkness and polarity, both internally and externally; not to cast them out, but to form a deeper acceptance and understanding of all that is part I took my time with each moment, taking special note where I wanted to quickly gloss over what needed to be done to improve the lot of our people down home by presenting them on the floor of the legislative house, or to attend to the complains, suggestions, advises from the good people of my constituency, I dont have the right words to express the thrill that it gives me to have this opportunity to serve my people in that capacity in my life. You are all aware that I resumed very late into the senate as a result of legal tussle over mandate stealing and reclaiming, based on my antecedence at the lower chamber, you gave me overwhelming votes, which I had never recorded in my previous elections, but that mandate was stolen and to God be the glory, you stood your round firmly, with all loyalty and determination and unequalled resilient, the mandate was reclaimed after six months at the court of law. But because of my belief in our ability to overcome all retrogressive and divisive forces in our midst and build a strong, united and prosperous senatorial district by turning our unique diversity into a source of strength, we remain unshaken and we have continue to work with all interest groups and stakeholders in our constituency to achieve the peaceful, secure and politically stable conditions essential for rapid socio-economic development of our land. In spite of these challenges and so many others which I have gone through, The plight of our people continuously lives with me in my daily thinking but I remain ardently focused on efforts to successfully execute projects that can alleviate their hardship across the nine local government of the Eastern Senatorial District of Kogi State. In this regard, we have already made notable advances . Below are the lists of projects which we have successfully completed while others are at different stages of completion. Some of you complained I have not given jobs to our graduates from the Eastern Senatorial District, that isnt true. As a senator saddled with legislative activities, I have taken my time and resources to visit various parastatals and agencies, military and paramilitary in facilitating jobs opportunities for our youths. In this regard, over Two Hundred and Ten (210) graduates from universities and polytechnic have benefited. Though, more should have been achieved in this aspect if not for the unruly and unholy conducts of some job seekers, but I have designed a perfect mechanism where job seekers can drop their Curriculum Vitae with me without passing through third party and elimination of double submission of CVs by applicants. As soon the arrangement is completed, we are going to have improvement in job creation. But we cannot afford to rest on our oars. Much remains to be done and I will continue to count on the patriotic support of all of you as we strive to achieve more inclusive economic growth, equip our youths, both male and female in skill acquisitions which can make them compete favorably in modern day economy and to create more employment opportunities to meet the demands of our increasingly youthful productive population. I have read all your comments, for those who took the courage to express their feelings about me,I thank you for your bravery and doggedness, together we shall continue to move ahead.
