MY LETTER TO YOU I wrote this song for my mother a few years back near the end of her life. She had a stroke and couldn’t talk. I don’t really know if she recognised me as being her son spooning up her soup. The song is called “My letter to you”. In a song telling things you want to tell to a dear one but because of certain circumstances it’s too late to do so. One day fellow musicians arranged a surprise concert for Jos Bruggeman, a great friend of mine and great double bass player, who suffered a brain tumour. It was an emotional day and I wanted to play that song for him. Glad he completely recovered and I even played a few times with him. Special thanx to Christien van Helden for recording this song.
