MY OPINION ON THIS MATTER. (NOTICE how I said Opinion we are entitled to those. First amendment ;) ) You know, this is getting out of hand. Protesting wouldve made much more sense if it was about Not taking the majority of students votes into consideration but then you all went and turned it into Save Bucky campaign. -.- You just made a mockery out of our school and the IMPORTANT issue. Seriously, becoming Vaqueros is not whats ruining this university, its everyone doing things like this that put us on social media and showing the world that we care more about a mascot rather the education opportunities the school will have to offer. & Ive seen, heard, and I completely agree, Where are all these spirited college students when pep rallys or school functions are going on? & really for all those who dont even attend school, like why are you even speaking on this matter? YOU DONT EVEN GO HERE! If you graduated a Bronc, good for you, now hush. Like please tell me how YOUR life is being effected by this change? You still have your degree and (hopefully by now) a job. Its not like job interviews will be asking us What was your mascot in college? Oh, by the way, This answer will determine if you get the job or not. COME ON! & now youre making a petition for the president to resign? Like do you honestly know what youre doing right there? Because I dont think you do. Thats a persons job. Not cool. *sigh* I am all for fight what you believe in, but it needs to be backed up with something strong and solid. So far I see history and Vaqueros is racist like if we all (people who reside in the RGV) dont speak Spanish, eat tacos, or listen to rancheros once a while. Its our culture. Why be offended? Now if we were going to called something like Mojados then ey te pasas, but we arent. Just embrace the change. Im just glad we arent freaking Tortoises can you imagine, The mighty Tortoises! Fear us! ..no. This reminds me of everyone hating on the fact that we were going to be named UT-RGV but that blew over and this will too. You wanna petition something?
