MY OPINION. OPEN MINDED READ. Ive had this conversation a few times recently. Im NOT a BREEDER. I have no intentions of having children. I nannied/baby nursed for years and raised little cousins and that was all I needed. I come from a dysfunctional family, Im an only child without a mom...and im no spring chicken anymore. So chances are slim. I wish more people would make educated decisions like this instead of having kids out of guilt and pressure, then raising them badly or not at all. Its AMAZING how badly I get treated when I say I dont have kids. Folks act like there is something wrong with me. Its just not a priority for me. Id love to be a stepmom. No problem. And everyone knows Im a freaking kid-whisperer. So thats no issue. I got preggers when I was a teen when I got married and miscarried. Thank God! I hated the feeling of being pregnant and hated that something was growing inside me. We are all different. Its not for everyone. The whole point of this...I feel that non-breeders should get some kind of tax-break for NOT having kids. (If you know of one let me know). Its actually the opposite. Its going around that they want to RAISE taxes for non-parents. Im spending a lifetime paying taxes for schools and such that I wont have kids in...and when I have worked jobs with maternity leave (which i support) it felt inconsiderate that there wasnt some form of compensation given to me for NOT having kids. I could go on with a list of ways I feel jilted because of not being a parent. Its not just people like me not having kids...think of all of the women who CANT have children or folks who are gay, etc and wont have them. I know Im not the only one. Not sure why I felt I had to get this out there...maybe because its a perspective you dont hear of often...
