MY PERSONS OF THE YEAR 2014 I want to give special thanks to God again for His Grace in my life, for His faithfulness in my life. I give Him all The Glory, Praise and Honour. It took me a while to compile this list but after careful thoughtfulness, I was able to make out this list. All deserved to be there for very very special contributions to me and most especially to Nigerians 1. My late aunt- Madam Felicia Adedoyin Adeyemi-Sijuwade who died Juky this year. A woman of virtue who took me as her own son. She was indeed a mother to me. She makes number one out of this list. Her demise shook me. I am just recovering. 2. General Muhammadu Buhari (retd). He overcame all odds and oppositions, even stiff ones to emerge as APC Presidential Candidate. A man of integrity and honesty who lives a virtuous but prudent life, he overcame even an attempted assasination He has overcome even previous assasinations of his character to become a tipped winner of next years general elections. He is like Abraham Lincoln of Nigeria. I doff my hat for him 3. Bring Back our Girls campaigners led by Oby Ezekwesili and many others like HON. DINO MELAYE , my friends Emman Shehu , Prince Prince Ahmed Zubair and hosts of others. When the government failed to provide adequate security to inhabitants of Chibok, over 270 of their girls were captured. Despite govt denials, these people highlighted this reality to the world. Despite threats and harrassments, they made daily protest under the sun and in rain to highlight to the world why govt must rescue all those girls alive and return them back to their parents 4. Civilian JTF. This is a civilian militia that have protected their people against Boko Haram terrorists while govt failed them. Where soldiers with tanks and heavy ammunition ran away from and abandoned, these people conquered the terrorists and reclaimed their land back using stones and sticks and cutlasses against the sophisticated weaponry of Boko Haram. I admire their courage and braveness 5.Dr, Stella Adadevoh . Late Dr, Adadevohs courage saved Nigerians from that bioterrorist from Liberia - Patrick Sawyer who exported bola to Nigeria. He wanted to infect many thousands of people but the bravery of Dr.Adedevoh and many other health workers prevented that Yes she got infected with the virus and later died in her attempt to make sure Sawyer didnt carry out his plans o infect many thousands. I salute her courage, to be continued and concluded tomorrow (this list contains 12 persons including two great journalists). You wont wanna miss out on the remaining 7
