MY RANDOM MIND THINKS? HISTORY AND HOPE Now many of you know I have a love for history. I am no expert, but I enjoy reading about history. As I read through the Bible, which is rich with history, and also one of my favorite readings. I have read through the Bible many times, but recently I have noticed a trend when reading about the Kingdoms of Judah and Israel. Over hundreds of years these kingdoms vacillated between following GOD’s word and pursuing evil. Time and time again Kings came to rule, some followed GOD’s ways, and others did not. But each any every time these Kingdoms drifted from the path, GOD brought them back, raised up godly men to lead them and removed the evil leaders. GOD holds leaders accountable and lays at their feet the charge of leading people astray. HIS punishments for the leaders of evil was usually harsh, but it always seems to come in time. GOD does not forget the people who seek leadership roles. GOD always rids the land of the evil and restores the country. I love history and I have hope that America will see GOD’s hand moving against the evil within our borders and will destroy it and return the people to the paths HE has set for us. America is a GODLY nation, created by GOD and beloved of the Creator. HE will not turn a blind eye to the leaders and their evil acts, but will, as history records, require of them a reckoning for their failure. But I believe HE will restore us, HIS people as we call upon HIS name and seek HIS face. Jim Woods
