MY REFLECTIONS OF THE WEEK: 5th October - 11th October, 2014. One scene stood out strikingly: Scene One and Act One(In our sitting room, time check was 9:00pm. NTV news tonight is on...). Watching NTV news tonight on Monday, 6th October, showing John Patrick Amama Mbabazi(JPAM) wipe - clean tears, I was intrigued. Did we witness the tears of relief, joy, sadness or of crude betrayal. As I continue to watch JPAM endures the ceremony to the end, it dawned on me that even the mighty in political leadership are also ordinary mortal human beings like us.....they too cry! This depicted loss of power, failure, fear, and tears in leadership life. Take heart my beloved JPAM - know that a leaders life is a book with many pages and each day is a new page of strategic pragmatic approach to life. You even said that you are not bothered at all by the recent sacking. To this end I agree with you but tell the nation: Dont Cry for me Uganda......Oh.. this reminds me of No llores por mi Argentina - Dont Cry for me Argentina - a song from the 1978 musical Evita with music by Andrew Llyod Wobber and lyrics by Tim Rice. It is tied to broad emotional themes of REGRET and DEFIANCE. Evita name, in Spanish, was given to Eva Peron - the most powerful, combative and compassionate woman in Argentina but betrayed by the military and the bourgeosie class. Eva Peron(as a spirit of the dead) exhorts the people of Argentina not to mourn her - The truth is I never left you - and later as she gives final broadcast - The truth is I shall not leave you. Please..please tell us not to cry and the truth is you have not left.
