MY RESPONSE to ANGELI I guess your sentiments are my sentiments... Your hatred also my hatred, your angst also mine... I loved how you expressed your hatred, and I hated the fact that you are losing your love for this country. And I know that there are many more out there that feel the same... Really, what is there to love about our country now? What is it that we can be proud of? What is it that we can say to others and to ourselves other than our resiliency and resolve? With each passing day of every wasted moment, of opportunity lost, where integrity is ignored and values detached, and with real change still elusive, HATE will always trump LOVE... But when all is lost, there is still HOPE. Maybe you have lost that too. And I dont blame you. More so when we bear witness to the vulgarity and inanity of our current environment. Should we really give up? Should we really quit? Will it be an imposition on my part to tell you not to? Will you also hate me if I tell you to end hate and begin with hope? When I read your piece, it struck the rawest of my nerve and I cannot help but be amazed by your eloquence in expressing what most of us really feel. But it also gave me pause and reflection. And it gave me inspiration. When hate overwhelms you, it only means that you have deep-seated feelings. It means that you are passionate about your country. It means that you care. And that is what gives me HOPE... And so I beg you... Please end your hatred now. Please dont quit. Because now is the time that all the more we need somebody like you. End your hatred for our country... And instead bring in hope... Because you care.
