MY SAY> A MUST READ:These days much is being bandied about men of God, of either corruption, financial affluence, diabolic activities, etc. Well, it is not surprising because these group of people are the custodians of Gods approved standards and should be the best example of what they teach. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). I am not holding brief for anybody, because it is God alone who knows His children. But be that as it may I want to say in the first place that anybody, be he a pastor, imam or whatever who does anything that is criminal in any guise deserve the penalty of justice even before the court of the land if proven to be guilty, because God is a God of justice. But to say that the servant of God has no right to prosper, or to own a good home and one or two cars like other moderate human beings in the society is completely out of context. I have not read any passage in my Bible that says Gods servants should be poor or wretched, instead right from the Old Testament, the Priests were given special potions in all scrifices and the temple of God never lacked. The Bible says Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it (Malachai 3:9). This is Gods command, now if a Church (His storehouse), has a congregation of about a thousand members, amongst whom are financially well to do people, and they are faithful (which is the right behaviour of any true believer), and they all pay their tithes duely, why should the Church not prosper? Would it not be stange to see the Pastor or that Church ride a donkey because the Lord Jesus Christ rode on a donkey? By the way do you not know that in the days of the apostles, the best mode of travelling was the donkey? If the Lord Jesus Christ was to be with us today, would you ask Him to ride a donkey? What about Peter, Paul or John? Who is supposed to have the best, the servant of God or the political rogue? Without doubt, like in any vocation, there must be abusers of the office but that should not give the licence to label all servants of God as filthy rags that dont deserve to live comfortably. Truely, there has to be caution in the manner the servant of God handle Gods affairs. The Pastor has no business in politics whatsoever, what is his calling and how can he escape all the fraudulent agents around him and remain impartial and still minister before the Lords alter loyally and regularly? Between the calling of God and the political office, which is greater? By the time you become the President pastor what happens to the flock in your care? What was the relationship between the Lord Jesus Christ and the political class of His day. When you mounted the pulpit as a preacher what were your terms of agreement with the Lord? Many men of God are going too far in excess and should be cautioned, not judged for judgment is reserved for God. In the natural, you dont write a contract if you dont mean what you say in the contract. God is not a man that He should lie, so why should His servant affiliate with any lier? The Pastor is an unbiased umpire and so should remain. People have been looking down on the Lord in this age, so to speak. They believe that, because God does not instantly strike them dead, they can misuse public money and get away with it. YOU LIE. Because some men of God in all the faiths, because it is only that of the Christians that are made public, have become more comparabcle in their life-style and illegal aquisition of wealth with politicians, does not mean that having a nice big house and living comfortably, is not right for the average Christian. And many mind have been poisoned that they sure dont think that having a nice house is right for the preacher. There reward is in heaven, abi? God isnt going to bless a people who want to rise above the preacher financially, when they enjoy the blessings from his prayers and leave him in the junkyard. Only a bad child will allow the parents who laboured to bring him up to suffer while he enjoys three meals without a second thought. People tend to misquote the Bible that money is the root of. evil, NO PLEASE, the word of God unequivocally states that, For the LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1 Timothy 6:10). Money is not the root of all evil, it is the love of money that has plunged this society into the predicament we find ourselves today. So also the lack of money is equaly so dangerous that there has to be a balance in all affairs of our doing. There are a lot of false prophets in the world today, but their only purpose is to get people not to believe the true children of God. The false prophet will say some of the same things that the real prophet says so you will get confused about preachers. The devil sends them to look just like the real. You need to believe those ministers who proclaim the the Word of Salvation above all things first. Why did the Lord Jesus Christ ask, For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loose his soul? (Mark 8:36). Also you must realize that it is not the will of God for you to be poor, Belove, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 2). The best pressperity is a happy honest living on earth and the assurace of a final rest of the soul in the hereafter. WHERE DO YOU BELONG NOW????
