MY SON IS A FIGHTER!!! By far the bravest little guy I know! We have been in the ICU since Monday battling this potential bowel obstruction and dealing with terrible sickness and pain. Last night felt like one of the longest nights of my life as I watched him struggle to breath. As a mother, there is nothing more heart wrenching than to see your child in such pain that it hurts just to be turned over in the bed or to try and catch his breath, but after countless times of having the nurse page the Dr to come see him, two xrays and getting some much needed fluid pulled off his body he finally got some relief. So many fears and worries are associated with trying to figure out the cause of the intolerable pain while you watch him and the monitors go on a roller coaster ride. God is SO good though because as of this morning his abdominal xray showed signs of improvement where the concern has been all week, he is resting at the moment and has finally been released to go back to what has now become his comfort zone on the regular oncology unit! The power of prayer is amazing! I am beyond proud of him because it has certainly been a very long, hard week for him. He is still one very tired, crummy feeling little boy and his counts continue to be wiped out from this most recent block of chemo but he has at least improved enough to move back to where he feels safe. Ty God for all your blessings and to each of you praying for him and just keep it coming. Mommy loves you Kohl and would take this pain from you in half a heartbeat if only it worked that way. But my only power or control lies in my advocation for my brave young hero and our growing ability to battle and conquer obstacles without any spoken words as to what the obstacle even is! God is good!!!
