MY TAKE ON THE RUSSIAN ARMED INCURSION Briefly, I do not believe that a Russian military convoy entered the Ukraine on Thursday. What I think happened is that the reporters of the Guardian and of the Daily Telegraph who claim to have seen the convoy whether intentionally or by mistake misrepresented what was nothing more than the reinforcement of a local border post, which is completely understandable given what has been happening on the border. That was my take from the start as confirmed in a brief comment I made on someones thread and a few hours later I saw that this was the explanation provided by the Defence Ministry in Moscow. This mistaken report was then seized on by Poroshenko and some western politicians in order to discredit the Russian aid convoy, whose existence has been the cause of increasing political embarrassment. So far as Poroshenkos claim to have destroyed the convoy is concerned I have no doubt it is false. The calm way both Moscow and the NAF reacted shows this. The only question I have about this affair is whether the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph or their two reporters were in on this or whether they filed a misreport by mistake.
