MY TAKE ON THE SUPREME COURT RULING Many folks have inundated my inbox trying to get my take on the oncoming Supreme Court ruling regarding the Imo Guber case between IFEANYI ARARUME VS INEC and Governor Rochas Okorocha... May I say it clearly here that I do not understand the unnecessary hype this matter is generating. The matter is a ruling over against an interlocutory decision of the Court of Appeal wherein it granted the prayers of Chief Ikedi Ohakim to be joined as a party in the matter between ARARUME VS INEC viz a viz Governor Okorocha. Upon the decision that Chief Ohakim can be joined as an interested party, the Governor dissatisfied with that decision appealed to the Supreme Court and that appeal is what the Supreme Court has been asked to decide whether the ruling of the Court of Appeal that Ikedi Ohakim be joined as a party in the action was right or wrong. For the avoidance of doubt, what the Supreme Court would be determining tomorrow is whether Ikedi Ohakim can be joined in this action or not? Would the ends of justice be met by Joining Ohakim or not joining him? The fear or suspicion that Owelle may be sacked tomorrow is to me unfounded and borne out of ignorance. It is after the issue of Ohakims joinder that the matter would return to the Court of Appeal for determination of the substantive appeal after which any party who is not satisfied with the judgement may appeal to the Supreme Court. By this permutation anyone sensible person can discern that Owelle Rochas Okorocha may not be sacked from Douglas House before the end of his tenure as widely speculated. Finally I urge every Imolite to wake up to the reality that Governor Okorocha was elected for a tenure of four years out of which he has 17 months left to go. I am not being euphoric about it..... the man should serve out his four years and give way. He has a date with Imo people in 2015 when we shall give him the report card of his failed Rescue Mission. Please let this senseless speculation of removing the Governor via an appeal against an interlocutory decision of the Court of Appeal. For crying out loud, it was the Governor who appealed to the Supreme Court and not vise versa. I think I have made sense here. Let no one disturb me about a no-issue like this topic.
