MY TIP FOR BETTER PUMPS: Most novice weight lifters just go - TopicsExpress

MY TIP FOR BETTER PUMPS: Most novice weight lifters just go through the motions, every rep they do. They may have also heard of the mind-to-muscle connection technique, but can never get it. Here is my advice on how you can achieve the mind-to muscle focus required to achieve better gains and more intense pumps... 1. Without ANY weight in you hand, bend your elbow at about a 30 degree angle. 2. Tense your upper arm, by letting your tricep and bicep fight against each other. 3. Now under slow control, let the one muscle win the fight (in a contraction). Keep both muscles under strain for the whole motion. [this is the key to isometric bodyweight exercises] 4. Once the muscle has won (fully contracted), let the other opposing muscle pull it back in the opposite direction. [this will be performing a negative]. Still create resistance by the opposing muscle(s). Repeat... At the point at which you muscle is FULLY contracted really squeeze/tense it. :D Now... place a weight in your hand and do the same. HUGE difference. This method can be use on any part of the body where opposing muscle(s) can create isometric tension. Good luck with those pumps. :D
