MYALL COAST MEET KURRI KURRI: A travel story By Elsa JONES SEVENTEEN ladies from the Myall River View Club (plus 2 husbands) took a trip to Kurri Kurri to see the famous murals. First stop was to have a cuppa, then we met our guide, Col Mayberry, who used to be on 2NURFM as an Astronomer and Stargazer. Col also brought his wife along who is one of the many artists who have painted the amazing 52 murals of incredible works of art depicting the history of locals from the area, present and past. The miners uprising was one of the most striking but they were all amazing and some of us vowed we would return to get a closer look. What a great day out. We highly recommend all special interest groups from our area to visit Kurri Kurri. The day culminated in the Kurri Kurri Bowling Club where lunch consisted of a great 2 course meal. All ladies wish to thank Pamela Cooke for organizing this fantastic day out. For members and visitors, our next meeting will be held on 8th August at the Tea Gardens Hotel, 11.00am for 11.30 am. Guest speaker at that meeting will be Geoff McDougall who will talk about his experiences as a hazardous driving instructor.
