MYSTERY PHOTO OF THE DAY There was a time in dear old Washington County when we had tons of farmers whose families all pitched in to make the crops and run the business. Today ... we have fewer and fewer really died-in-the-wool hard-working men, women and children who make things happen through the soil, pastures, and ranges. Farmers and ranchers are still a viable mix in the County. However, big business and mega-farms and corporations seem to be taking over everything. We salute the farmers and ranchers of old and those who continue to carry on with the traditions of their ancestors and those who dedicated themselves to bringing in the crops and raising the livestock to help make Washington County ... Texas ... and ... America strong! We wonder who these two are pictured. We are told this shot comes from Washington Countys past. Anyone know the answer? And, which part of the County it was taken? No matter if we never know ... This photo represents the great heritage and history that was/is Washington County --- Birthplace of Texas!
