MYSTERY SOLVED: I had so much difficulty to get this fully grown angsana into one photo frame. I divided it into two, but still cant get the full plant. It is located in a parking area in Bedok North, completely surrounded by low-rise HDB blocks. I was mystified by the hanging leaves jutting out of so many hanging branches. I thought additional mini plants were added to revitalise the old angsanas. That was 19 Nov. Yesterday (30 Nov) I was at Bedok North again and got the mystery solved. At a different location (Photo 5&6), I saw how slim new shoots started growing at different parts of old angsanas. They seem independent of the plant, with lighter green leaves. They grew several meters long and were hanging all over the top and bottom of trees. Its a like a make-over - the old angsanas look younger & vibrant.
