As a news anchor, there are some stories you just hate to read and if its a dual cast, you silently pray that the onerous task of reading such a report falls on your co-anchor. Yesterday, I wasnt that lucky. I had to read it... STATE GOVERNORS DONATING BILLIONS OF NAIRA FOR A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. Billions of naira from so-called impoverished States. Billions from governors who had hinged their non-performance on lies. Lies like our state doesnt have money. Billions of naira that could improve living conditions of rural dwellers. Provide water, primary health services, basic education, trekeable roads (notice I did not say motorable roads because these jesters have settled it in their minds that we dont deserve well-laid roads), etc. Where did the money donated in an ostentatious manner spring form? Fellow Nigerians, we need to ask questions. If your state was involved in this show of shame by people in leadership who should know better, then ask questions. Take a good look at this picture. That is a Nigerian girl. She is less than 7 years old. Doesnt attend any school. Doesnt have access to health care, in fact, her mother travelled several kilometers to the nearest dignified clinic that serves as a hospital to have her. At her age, she doesnt have access to portable water. What She laps from in this picture is the only thing close to water for humans and cattle. All God creations take their turns at this coloured-muddy water. When the cattle are done, the humans take over and vice water. As at present, almost everyone in her community urinates blood. And guess what, she lives less than 30 minutes drive from the town where over 21 billion naira was raised in one night! Unfair. Obscene. Unjust. Inhuman. Callous.. . Thats how close I come to describing how I feel about our leaders charade of shame! #NO APOLOGIES!!!!
