Machakos County News Health services in #Machakos County have been paralyzed for the second day now following a strike by health workers. The health workers are accusing the county government of failing to remit their statutory deductions including (National Social Security Fund) NSSF and (National Hospital Insurance Fund) NHIF. Despite having a debit balance of KES 700 Million, the Machakos County Government cannot spend that money having surpassed the 50% budget spending ceiling...The strike was prompted by a misunderstanding which has now been ironed out. Workers are expected back to their stations even as they wait for the Jan 28th, 2015, court ruling on the case contesting the spending ceiling - Gov. Alfred Mutua
