Maddie and Twyla are 5 month old lab mix sisters. Maddie (blue collar) is the bigger girl weighing 23 lbs and has a longer coat. Twyla (red collar) weighs 19 lbs. Both girls are very sweet and very well behaved. They are kennel and crate trained no fussing what so ever. These precious girls spent 2 1/2 months in the shelter and seemed absolutely amazed at what it was like to run around in a yard and sleep on a soft bed. They are in the process of being potty trained and are doing very well. They have already mastered the doggy door and take full advantage of going out to play. Both girls are very respectful of their foster siblings and they like the cats too. They had a ball playing with their foster moms 8 year old grandson. Both are eager to please and respond wonderfully to verbal praise and puppy kibble as treats. Maddie and Twyla are great passengers on car rides! They have already been seen by a wonder vet, Dr Sheffield, at Lakeview Animal Hospital. They are learning leash manners and love meeting people. Both girls are very good when getting a bath, ears cleaned, and nails clipped. They both have some scarring on their heads and it is surmised that they may have been hit with bird shot. They are enjoying learning how to play with toys and so far do not appear to be destructive when in the house. Because they are young pups they are constantly supervised in the house and are taken out frequently for potty breaks. Until they are fully house trained they are crated at night and stay in a large outdoor kennel while foster mom is at work. Both girls have been started on HW and flea preventative. Maddie and Twyla (foster mom lovingly calls them the Bobbsey twins) will be available for adoption after they are spayed in the near future. Updates and more pics to follow.
