Made a call this morning to just one local drywall contractor, and may have already lined up some side work, mudding and taping drywall on a large new construction project, beginning in about 2 weeks! Hope I can find another company that can keep my schedule full with side work, till then. Been doing some homework on mortgage loan programs for first time buyers, and for people who need help with a down payment. I learned some very exciting facts about a little known tax credit that I am eligible for, and of the other tax benefits I would reap by going with a USDA loan program. Not having a down payment is not a problem, because this is a 2-mortgage loan that wont break the bank. The first loan covers the principal, or the purchase price of the home, and the second covers the down payment. And there are additional tax savings up to $10,000.00, over the first five years, with this program... and they may be willing to loan more than 100% of the value on the home. Im now more optimistic than ever, because I believed this was not hopeless or impossible in any way. I just had to do a little bit of homework, and rethink things a bit. Meeting again with our broker tomorrow afternoon. I am SO buying that home!
