Made a little pit stop in Tupelo to see the birthplace of Elvis. Dean hasnt been there in over 10 years & it was my first time ever! It was wonderful to see the humble beginnings for the King of Rock & Roll. We also learned something very interesting: In 1956 Elvis came back to Tupelo to put on a show at the Fairground. Upon his arrival in Tupelo, Elvis noticed that his former home, the very place where he was born, was up for sale. He kindly asked the city of Tupelo to purchase the property & turn it into a park for the children of the east side. He promised to donate all of the revenue from his concert to help make this possible. What a giving spirit that man had! Its my understanding that at that time, the east side was known to not have as much wealth as the west side. While the children on the west had pools & parks to enjoy, the children of the east side did not and crossing the tracks usually didnt end well. I just really think the world of people who do good with their money & influence. Giving back & helping to make the world a better place is something that Elvis always did whether it was through his music or his many acts of kindness. ⚡️TCB
