Made an interesting purchase today. With an all out effort this year to gain some new students and with many of the possible students Ive contacted being young girls (7 to 11 years old), some of them not having a guitar yet, I thought it might be an added bonus to HAVE something they could play. So, while I was at my favorite shop, Harmony House Music getting some new strings, I happen to spot this little gem. After some thought and talking with Mike, (The guitar guy), along with a little wheeling and dealing, he made me an offer I simply couldnt refuse. Now...It may LOOK like a toy, but let me tell you, after some intense tweaking, this is actually some serious guitar! Its a mini, but with its single humbucker pickup...Ive played full sized guitars that were more expensive that dont sound this good. Even though its a very girlie guitar, I wouldnt be ashamed to actually play this at a gig! Laugh if ya want, but until you hear it, I wouldnt laugh too hard. :) Its just the right size for smaller hands, so its totally playable, even for me. Its no where close to my Strat, but then..What is?? Its a Daisy Rock Debutante Daisy. I tell ya, I am very happily surprised at the quality and tone. So, wish me luck on getting those new students AND finding a singer! I will NOT go down without a fight!
