Made it to Enchanted Valley and back in one piece! Should i have - TopicsExpress

Made it to Enchanted Valley and back in one piece! Should i have gone? Probably not. Would i do it again? In a heartbeat!! Lol. It took me just under 7 hours to get in 12.7 miles, at least a dozen downed trees to scramble over, but most of the water was easily passable, except the trail just before the Chalet. That led to a sketchy log crossing. Mother nature had a treat for me Saturday night, an awesome rain and wind storm led to a cacophony of slides and falling trees throughout the night. The trek back out took 7 hours, but was 13.45 miles due to all the additional dead fall, the completely flooded trails to traverse around, the previously dry run off ditches turned into roaring rivers, and the fact that approximately 80% of the trail that wasnt completely gone or blocked, was a creek with run off. So, during a rain storm in winter; dont take children, take all your rain gear, microspikes to cross makeshift log bridges, and trekking poles. Oh! My fuzzy sleeping bag liner kept me warm and cozy while nature threw a fit outside my tent :)
