Made it to the base of Kinabalu National Park. Found a room directly opposite the entrance to the park for 8 euro for the night- Tahubang Lodge. Dinner was about 2 euro- a nice spicey Thai style chicken noodle soup. Completed all the paperwork for the climb and will head off early tomorrow at 7am. Turnaround time at the peak is 1pm, so will have to maintain a good pace and hope for good weather at the top. Have day pack ready to go with warm clothes for the summit and chocky bars for me and my guide- is compulsory to take a guide on the climb- supports the local economy Nothing to do now but finish my novel and enjoy a good nights sleep. :)
