Made our way to Bakersfield today. Staying at the Elks Club here (well, in the motorhome in the parking lot next to the Elks. Other side of the fence are 2 yappy chihuahuas and 1 Corgi). It was around 80 degrees when we arrived so very pleasant. Update on my sister: Late start on the open heart surgery today so they didnt finish until about an hour ago. She is doing fine. They removed a non-cancerous mass near her heart in the process as well. Long day for her very attentive husband and daughter. Hope they get some rest tonight.
