Made presentation on Freedom of Mass Media in Kazakhstan with Gulzada Ablikimova (and Bota Iliyas was with us in her thoughts as proud co-author), touched upon Zhanaozen and harassment of independent mass media in Kazakhstan (such as Republic). Sadly reporting that majority of students are still totally indifferent to such issues such as freedom of speech and even don’t really understand why we need it. Seriously, is there any way to make our young generation wake up a bit and think, take a conscious position and choose their future? Youth should at least have some strong opinions… Not simply being bored with politics.
