Madness and insanity are sometimes classed as variations on a theme. There are some who, in fits of madness, do terrible things, others who in the grip of insanity do things ordinarily abhorrent to their nature. Normally there are factors for such mental breakdowns. The common belief being that the mad person does not know they are mad. This however was not the case of the Father Lewis, who knew that he was not fully compis mentis. But to do Gods work in this filthy world certain principles had to be erased. Certain morals would have to lie by the roadside, rotting like everything else in this forsaken Eden. ..( from me novella that is! heheheh)
