Madras Pioneer sports editor Jeff Wilson took this video from the cockpit of the Maid in the Shade, a B-25J Mitchell bomber that arrived in Madras Monday morning. This 70-year-old World War II plane will be out at the Madras Airport all week for viewing, just in time for The Airshow of the Cascades. Folks of all ages are encouraged to come out and explore, learn or take a seat on a flight of the plane. Static display and tours ($5 donation) are available daily 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. through Aug. 24. The Living History Flight Experience, a 25-30 minute flight time, about a 45 minute experience on board the plane, can be scheduled by calling the B-25J crew at 480-322-5503 or by contacting the crew at the airport.
