Dear all, The Office of English Language Programs is pleased to invite you to apply for a scholarship to the SIT TESOL Certicate Course offered by TESOL Training Costa Rica (TTCR), a licensed provider of courses from the SIT Graduate Institute and housed in Centro Espiral Maná in rural Costa Rica. We request that you read the following message carefully in its entirety as all the necessary information is there. Requirements for candidates The SIT TESOL Certificate course is ideal for in-service English teachers who have not taken formal training before. It is best if you have at least two years’ worth of teaching experience. Candidates should be Mexican citizens; foreigners and dual Mexican-US citizens are ineligible. Candidates must be highly motivated individuals dedicated to their own professional development and willing to share their knowledge with colleagues through publications, workshops or professional presentations. Candidates must submit the attached application form and meet the criteria stated on it; they will also have to present a one-page essay, as well as have an oral interview (which can be done by phone) with the program manager. Participants must also: · Obtain permission from their institution to be absent for the duration of the course · Have valid travel documents (passport only; Mexicans do not need a visa for Costa Rica) · Secure additional funding to pay for their airfare, personal expenses and health insurance What the scholarship includes The scholarship includes tuition, room and board, and course materials. Cost Sharing International travel to and from Costa Rica, local transportation (taxis), personal expenses, and health insurance or medical costs are to be absorbed by the participant or the participant’s institution. Disclaimer Due to the very limited seating available, we cannot guarantee that your application will actually result in a scholarship. Applications will be rank-ordered to ensure that the strongest candidates have priority. The final decision to grant the scholarships will be made by TESOL Training Costa Rica (TTCR) after reviewing the applications and interviewing the candidates. Deadline for applications The deadline to submit applications is Monday, January 19, 2015. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
