Maggiora Revives Willys Brand with AW 380 Berlinetta Limited Edition 380,000-Euro Retro Sports Car. Created in partnership with coachbuilder Carrozzeria Viotti. Italian carmaker Maggiora has teamed up with legendary coachbuilder Carrozzeria Viotti to revive the Willys brand with inspiration coming from the Willys Interlagos – the first sports car to be built in Brazil. Essentially the Brazilian variant of the Alpine A108, built between 1958 and 1965, the Interlagos enjoyed a successful racing career, with 822 units produced in Sao Paulo between 1962 and 1966. Unveiled at the Bologna Motor Show, the 2015 Willys AW 380 Berlinetta harks back to the original with elegant lines and era-specific detailing, but there’s no mistaking its modern-day performance capabilities. Power comes from a 3.8-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder boxer engine with 610 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a carbon-fiber body that tips the scales at just 1,350 kg, 0-62 mph is said to come in at 2.7 seconds en route to a top speed of 212 mph with power sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed transmission. The rear-engined coupe sits on alloys staggered 19/20 inches front/rear, sports independent MacPherson struts up front and multi-link suspension at the back, while stopping power comes from ceramic composite brakes. Limited to 110 units, the 2015 Willys AW 380 Berlinetta will be assembled in Turin, Italy, priced from 380,000 Euros a piece.
