Maggots, During an interview before a concert, Clown was asked - TopicsExpress

Maggots, During an interview before a concert, Clown was asked what goals he had left for Slipknot, and he said that performing on Saturday Night Live is a goal the band has yet to accomplish. I had a vision of seeing Slipknot performing on the SNL stage, and I was inspired to make this vision come true. I then created a campaign called Slipknot for Saturday Night Live. I discovered that Clown had joined my campaign on his Facebook page. His support gave me the inspiration that I needed to keep my campaign going. I knew from that moment on, that I would take this campaign as far as it could possibly go, and that destination is New York City. Slipknot would put on an incredible performance that would be among the best the show has ever seen. This is a way for Slipknot to celebrate the release of their new album, .5: The Gray Chapter, and a way to expose the Slipknot phenomenon to a new fan base in a big way. Slipknot has performed on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel, and Conan OBrien, so why not Saturday Night Live? Roadrunner Records, Loudwire, SiriusXM Radio, and radio stations all over the United States, expressed immediate interest in the campaign. I attended a book signing in Hollywood, California when I first met Corey Taylor. When I walked up to the line with my Slipknot for SNL T-Shirt on, I was immediately asked by a fan, Where did you get that T-Shirt? I joined that campaign! I was quickly embraced by the fans, and in that moment, I realized just how big my campaign had become. The music correspondent on the television show Extra, Adam Weissler, whos also a Slipknot for SNL supporter, contacted me and told me that he was going to interview Corey Taylor for his next music segment. I was invited to the interview and got a second opportunity to meet Corey. During the interview, when Corey was asked if a new Slipknot album could potentially lead into a Saturday Night Live performance, Corey responded, Weve talked about it, and SNL is the one thing weve always wanted to do. If SNL were to take a chance, trust me, they wouldnt regret it. Slipknot for SNL had a national television spot during Extras music segment. What started out as an idea, has now grown into the biggest campaign ever to get a musical guest on SNL. This has created a worldwide community of Slipknot and SNL fans all cheering for this to happen and its been a truly gratifying experience watching the campaign grow and getting the unique opportunity to communicate with the best fans a band could ever have. Slipknot gave me something to believe in, and by having them on SNL, they might just give someone else something to believe in. This campaign is a true testament to the band, the fans, and at the same time deliver a helping hand. Thank you. Sincerely, Chad Cheifer (Founder and Manager)
