Magic Christmas Poem - by Kyle Peron Twas the night before the gig, when all through the place the magician had panicked, he was still packing his case. He practiced his slieghts over here and over there, tried showing his wife, who really didnt care. The birthday child was nestled all snug in his bed, how to torment the magician danced in his head. The client woke early and slapped on a cap, waiting for the show, so he could take a long nap. When out on the lawn there rose such a clatter, The magician arrived and was reciting his patter. The kids were all hyper and ran like a flash, the magician was glad he got payment in cash. It was very cold outside with fresh, fallen snow, An outside performance!? This is going to blow! When, what to his wandering eyes should appear, but an overweight uncle with a 6 pack of beer. He was a little odd, so lively and quick, shouted, hey magic man, Ill show you a trick! I know a good card trick and its not very lame, Uses 21 cards and Ill call them by name. Now all the piles of cards, they need a good mixen, The magician just thought, it needs lots of fixen. He set up the show, against the back wall. 4 kids showed up, youre kidding.. thats all? The silks were produced when one started to fly, It was gone, history as it flew to the sky. The parents were loud and obnoxious too, then the kids started to chant a sarcastic boooo. He said not a word and went straight to his work, The show must go on, even for this little jerk. He did a few tricks that messed with their head, When he suddenly knew he had nothing to dread. The parents passed out, the kids were all foul, As the magician packed up and took his last bow. They heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight, 5 shows in one day, what a long night!
