Magnanimously lettin bygones be bygones (I wrote a piece on Frankie back in the day, more than a little, err, off colour in places) Holly Johnson just spoke with me for an hour or so. I liked him and tho he wasnt into blowing the ole trumpet or bone in his flute I couldnt help wonder does current Britpop offer anything like him, Marc Almond or Boy George - working class guys who survived illness, prejudice, fame to actually, ultimately, make a positive difference in society?
