The true star of this monumental work is writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson as he creates a stunningly engrossing, funny, dark, unexpected, intriguing and mesmerizing experience with such artistically inspired precision and thought provoking storytelling that you wont know what hit you. The ensemble cast of this movie is ridiculously great with Juliane Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macy, John C. Reilly and Phillip Baker Hall all performing at their emotionally powerful heights not to mention Tom Cruise delivering arguably his most dynamic, engaging and greatest performance of his career. This is quite simply one of the greatest movies ever made that takes you on a unforgettable journey through its masterfully constructed story, sublime filmmaking style and truly astounding group of always interesting characters that culminates in a pitch perfect ending that just like the rest of the movie is a true work of art.
